Apart from making improvements to the back end of the Xbox app for PC, Microsoft also announced a few new features that will be coming with the June update. These improvements and new features are all aimed at improving how the app runs, seeing how well games will run on your system and making it easier to find games.

Xbox DOWNLOAD

The first new feature is called the Performance Fit Indicator, an extremely useful feature to the Xbox app for PC. Nothing is more frustrating than downloading a game you’re dying to try only to find that your computer can’t run it. With the Performance Fit Indicator, you’ll immediately see if the game can run on your computer and how well it runs on computers with similar specs.

If your computer can’t run the game, you can click on it to see more info, including what your current computer will need to run the game. Whether this is a higher graphics card, more memory or just more storage space, this is very useful as sometimes all you need to do is remove some games or programs you no longer use to run the game

Since this feature is still relatively new, you might not yet see a performance check for every game listed in the library. But as more games are being checked, you should soon see this feature on all the games in the app.

More improvements were made to how you navigate the app, making it easier to find games. All the navigation now takes place in the sidebar, and there is a queue showing the progress of all your downloads. You’ll also receive a notification when a game finishes downloading.

The search feature has been improved to be more accurate, making it easier to find the games you care about. The search result will also show games from EA Play and Ubisoft Connect. The ‘Home’ page has also been improved. It now shows more collections for you to get started with, along with casual adventures and games to play with friends, which you can explore.

These improvements should go a long way to improving the usability and convenience of the Xbox PC app. For more on the games, you can look forward to, read this article on Summer Game Fest 2022.

Born and raised in South Africa I am the mother of two busy kids and one loving husband. Since leaving school I immediately started working and have been involved in many different industries where I learned a wide range of skills. Some of my skills range from marketing to management and even teaching special needs children, particularly those with severe developmental delays. I am a self-proclaimed holiday nut, taking any chance I can get to decorate and celebrate major holidays such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas, often planning these months in advance! I have a wide range of passions that I persue (as often as I can) such as reading, writing, bonsai, crafting, creating natural beauty products, listening to music and playing games (prefered platforms being PC and Xbox).
